Highly-experienced Speech-Language Pathologists Jodi Schechtman, M.A. CCC-SLP, and Melissa Graham, M.A. CCC-SLP, combined their individual practices in 2016 to form MJ Kidz, LLC. Located in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, with a satellite office in Mullica Hill, NJ, our specialized pediatric practice assists children and young adults with improving their speech and language skills and social interactions by engaging in fun and motivating activities.
At MJ Kidz, we offer individual speech therapy sessions, as well as a variety of group services with emphasis on social communication. All of our group facilitators are certified Speech-Language Pathologists—highly trained professionals who are devoted to improving your child's social and communication skills. We specialize in assisting children who have autism, ADHD, behavioral difficulties, and language impairments.
Melissa Graham received her Master of Arts degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Temple University and her Bachelor of Arts degree in Hearing and Speech Sciences from University of Maryland, College Park. Melissa is certified by the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA) and licensed by the state of New Jersey. She has worked as a speech pathologist for Gloucester County Special Services School District providing school-based and home-based services from 2007-2012. In addition, Melissa served as a member of Child Study Teams and performed a variety of speech and language evaluations within school districts. Melissa also previously owned and operated a private practice based in Audubon, NJ. Melissa is trained in Picture Exchange Communication Systems (PECS), The Listening Program, PROMPT and in Social Thinking© Level 1b.
Jodi is an ASHA board certified, licensed speech language pathologist with a masters degree in Speech Pathology. She has worked in otolaryngologist offices, hospitals, schools, early intervention and outpatient facilities. She has experience working with those who have Apraxia, language deficits, Articulation disorders, tongue thrusting difficulties as well as those diagnosed with Nonverbal Learning Disorders, ADD, ADHD, Fragile X and Downs Syndrome. Cognitive Behavioral therapy has been a focus as well as pragmatic Language Disorders. With her training, Jodi has extensive experience working with children on the Autistic spectrum including those with PDD-NOS (Pervasive Developmental Disorder- Not Otherwise Specified) and Aspergers.
Through her positioin as the Autism Specialist in several districts, Jodi has a comprehensive knowledge of the K-12 Curriculum, as it relates to ASD. She was recognized as "Professional of the Year" from The Good Looking Foundation, a foundation supporting children with ASD (Autistic Spectrum Disorders) and was recognized as a candidate to receive a Health Care Hero award from NJBIZ.
Jodi has been featured on Channel 6 for her SOS feeding program and has been featured as a national speaker through Lorman Education Series.
Nicole is an ASHA board certified speech and language pathologist and co-owner of MJ Kidz. She graduated from George Washington University with her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in Speech and Hearing Sciences. Nicole has worked with children, adolescents, and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders, Apraxia of Speech, Pragmatic Language Disorders, Fluency Disorders, Articulation and Phonological Disorders, Hearing Impairment, Auditory Processing Disorders, Executive Functioning Disorders, and Augmentative-Alternative Communication (ACC) needs. She has a passion for cultivating social skills and executive functioning skills in struggling children, adolescents, and adults. Nicole has attended selective workshops in selective mutism and Zones of Regulation. As a daughter of a speech-language specialist and a sister to a brother with moderate-severe Autism, Nicole exhibits a genuine passion for working with and improving the lives of those with communication needs.
Rachel graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with her Bachelors of Science in Psychology and from Loyola University Maryland with her Masters of Science in Speech-Language Pathology. She began working with children with special needs through psychology coursework, and came to feel passionate about children's language development and how children use language to interact with their environment. Rachel has experience utilizing Applied Behavior Analysis techniques and principles to create positive behavioral changes and optimize productivity of treatment sessions. She has attended Social Thinking training with focus on strengthening social-cognitive and communicative skills through preschool and adolescent ages.
